The elevation attribute is specified in the W3C's CSS 2.0 specifications as a style property. It is used as an attribute in MML.
The elevation attribute (vertical angle) is often used together with the azimuth attribute (horizontal angle).

The angle at which a sound source is located with reference to the listener is declared with the following keywords together with a value.
In this example the vertical angle of the sound source is 10 degrees, while the horizontal angle is right at the back, thus 180 degrees.
