- Layer
- In CSS objects can be displayed on top of one another and described as
such along the z-axis.
In design programs, such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Flash, objects
(visual or audio) can be placed in separate layers to facilitate the design
process. For example, it is easier to manage the design of a complex image
if its components can be separated into different layers.
There are 3 kind of layers in Flash:
- normal layers: the layers used for most objects and object
parts
- motion guide layers: the layer used for the path of an
animation
- mask layers: the layer used for hiding objects or some
of their part
- Link
- Link is the short form for "hyperlink". A link "links" documents,
or document fragments to one another. When a user activates
a link, the document changes to the position indicated by
the link. In web pages
links were
originally
underlined
to
indicate the link. With style sheets a textual link can
take on any design features. Images and
other objects can also be used as links.

- LISTSERV
- Listserv is a program that automates electronic
mailing lists. Majordomo is one such program. A
user typically subscribes to the
list, which automatically sends
the emails of other users to that user. Listserv is used
by special interest groups to post messages to one another.
A message is posted to the listserv
server, which sends the message to all subscribers. Some
listserv's are fully automated, others have a Moderator
who decides whether to allow a message
to be forwarded to other members.

- Locator
- The reference to an anchor. A locator is the structure (such as linked text,
image or other object) that a user activates to be taken to the anchor location.
In HTML the Locator is declared as a value of the href
or id attributes of the Anchor ( a
) element. It serves as the Source of the hypertext anchored link. In HTML
this value must be exactly the same as the value of the Destination anchor.
