Musical saw

Any flexible steel membrane plate that can be bent will create different pitches when it can be made to vibrate. Someone once used a long blade timber saw and noticed it creates music pitches when triggered. Triggering can be done either by striking the blade with a mallet, or by bowing on the side of the blade. Any bow may be used. Different pitches are not discrete, but on a continuum, which demands a fine ear and technique by the musician to play on pitch.
