Dylan's drumming career started at the age of sixteen when he joined the band The Urge on a full time basis. They did every pub and club in Gauteng and did demo recordings. Thereafter he played for various bands and musicians in Pretoria, among others:

• Clive Bruce
• Shine
• In defense of Angels
• ...

In 1999 her was contracted by Sun City and played in Shine.

In 2000 he joined the independent theatre company Myth in 2000, performing and drumming in Cape Town.

He featured in SA City Life, Top Billing, KykNet, etc.
