Johann Conrad Steijn arrived at the Cape of Good Hope from Oberbreidenbach, Germany.
This is all that is known about his career:
Johann Conrad Steijn married Susanna Margaretha of the Cape 1793.01.27. According to JA Heese (Die Herkoms van die Afrikaners) she was a free black woman (C798). "Black" means anything which is non-European. Slaves were imported from several Asian countries, and these people were also called non-European.
Three of the children were baptised on the same day (1783.10.12): Johan Coenraad, Anna Elisabeth, Louisa Cornelia
